Question 1

How many technical diving instructors are there in Bali, Indonesia?

Accepted Answer

TecDiveTools lists 12 technical diving instructors in Bali, Indonesia. The directory is not a census — it lists the instructors we have been able to verify, and grows as more are added.

Question 2

Why learn technical diving in Bali, Indonesia?

Accepted Answer

Indonesia sits in the heart of the Coral Triangle, the region with the greatest marine biodiversity on the planet, so the dives you train on are exceptional in their own right — Raja Ampat, Komodo, Bunaken and Lembeh in North Sulawesi, and the walls and currents of Alor. It also has cave diving: the karst of southeast Sulawesi holds hundreds of flooded caves, most still unexplored, with clear water, little flow and warm temperatures all year — conditions closer to Mexico than to most of Asia.

Question 3

Which technical diving agencies can I train with in Bali, Indonesia?

Accepted Answer

TDI (9), IANTD (4), RAID (3), SSI XR (3), PADI TecRec (2) and UTD (1), counted by how many of the 12 instructors listed in Bali, Indonesia teach each. 6 teach more than one agency. The agency sets the standards and issues the card; the instructor sets the price and schedule.

Question 4

How much do technical diving courses cost in Bali, Indonesia?

Accepted Answer

Published whole-course prices at dive centres in Bali, Indonesia, by training tier — Extended Range: IDR 12,000,000–20,700,000 (2 centres); Advanced Nitrox: IDR 7,250,000–9,500,000 (2 centres); Normoxic Trimix: IDR 18,750,000–29,700,000 (2 centres). Each figure is a centre's own published price; they differ mainly in what they include (gas, equipment, dives), so compare inclusions before numbers. Every course page lists the individual prices.

Most often: TDI Air Diluent CCR (6), TDI Air Diluent CCR Decompression Procedures (5), TDI Helitrox CCR (3) and TDI Helitrox CCR Decompression Procedures (3). Question 7

When is the best time of year for technical diving in Bali, Indonesia?

Accepted Answer

Seasons vary by island. Broadly, Bali and the Gili Islands dive best in the dry season (roughly April to November), Raja Ampat's calmer months are roughly October to April, and North Sulawesi dives well most of the year — check the region you are travelling to.

Question 8

How warm is the water in Bali, Indonesia, and what do technical divers wear?

Accepted Answer

Mostly 27–30°C, but upwellings around Nusa Penida and Alor can drop the temperature into the low 20s °C or below without warning, so carry more insulation than the surface temperature suggests.
