Technical diving in Indonesia: 46 instructors on TecDiveTools, with the agencies and courses each teaches, and a summary of what students say.
TecDiveTools lists 46 instructors teaching technical diving in Indonesia.
Listings are ordered by how much evidence exists about their technical diving, not by a star rating, with any paid Featured listing shown first and marked as such (how rankings work). 15 of these 46 carry reviews we have read and classified as being about technical or overhead training. The count excludes recreational certifications by name, so a busy resort does not outrank a one-instructor cave operation on the volume of its reef trips. Separately, 11 have a written synthesis of what reviewers say about them. How we read and count reviews.

TecDiveTools lists 46 technical diving instructors in Indonesia: Gili Trawangan (14), Bali (12), Jakarta (9), Sulawesi (8), Alor (1) and Gili Air (1), and 1 more region. The directory is not a census — it lists the instructors we have been able to verify, and grows as more are added.
Indonesia sits in the heart of the Coral Triangle, the region with the greatest marine biodiversity on the planet, so the dives you train on are exceptional in their own right — Raja Ampat, Komodo, Bunaken and Lembeh in North Sulawesi, and the walls and currents of Alor. It also has cave diving: the karst of southeast Sulawesi holds hundreds of flooded caves, most still unexplored, with clear water, little flow and warm temperatures all year — conditions closer to Mexico than to most of Asia.
TDI (42), IANTD (7), RAID (5), SSI XR (4), PADI TecRec (3) and UTD (1), counted by how many of the 46 instructors listed in Indonesia teach each. 10 teach more than one agency. The agency sets the standards and issues the card; the instructor sets the price and schedule.

Mostly 27–30°C, but upwellings around Nusa Penida and Alor can drop the temperature into the low 20s °C or below without warning, so carry more insulation than the surface temperature suggests.
