Explore Technical Diving in Mexico: 31 dive centres on TecDiveTools, with agencies, courses taught and a summary of what students say. 17 publish course prices.
TecDiveTools lists 31 dive centres teaching Explore Technical Diving in Mexico. 17 of them publish course prices, in the currency the shop advertises and with the date each was checked — not converted, and not estimated.
Listings are ordered by how much evidence exists about their technical diving, not by a star rating, with any paid Featured listing shown first and marked as such (how rankings work). 19 of these 31 carry reviews we have read and classified as being about technical or overhead training. The count excludes recreational certifications by name, so a busy resort does not outrank a one-instructor cave operation on the volume of its reef trips. Separately, 13 have at least one instructor whose reviews we have read and summarised — a dive centre carries no synthesis of its own. How we read and count reviews.

About the course
This introductory confined-water course qualifies IANTD Open Water Divers (or higher) to gain foundational knowledge and pool experience with technical diving concepts including basic decompression procedures, gas blending principles, and overhead-environment awareness. You'll explore theoretical foundations and practice basic technical techniques in a controlled, non-overhead setting. Explore Technical Diving enables informed progression to full technical certifications including Recreational Trimix Diver, DPV Diver, and other technical specializations.
Divers must demonstrate competency in basic decompression calculations, gas mixing principles, basic technical buoyancy control, and understanding of overhead environment hazards.
The centres listed above teach IANTD Explore Technical Diving in Mexico. Requirements are set by the agency, not the centre, so they are the same wherever you train — what differs is price, class size and how much diving is included.
31 dive centres on TecDiveTools teach IANTD Explore Technical Diving in Mexico: Playa del Carmen (16), Tulum (7), Puerto Aventuras (3), Akumal (2), Cancun (1) and La Paz (1), and 1 more. Each is listed above.
Deep open-circuit training is done off the Riviera Maya and Cozumel, and in deep cenotes such as The Pit, where depth, a halocline and hydrogen-sulphide cloud combine in one dive.
