TDI Underwater Cave Surveying in Indonesia: 1 dive centre on TecDiveTools, with agencies, courses taught and a summary of what students say.
TecDiveTools lists 1 dive centre teaching TDI Underwater Cave Surveying in Indonesia.
Listings are ordered by how much evidence exists about their technical diving, not by a star rating, with any paid Featured listing shown first and marked as such (how rankings work). 1 of these 1 carry reviews we have read and classified as being about technical or overhead training. The count excludes recreational certifications by name, so a busy resort does not outrank a one-instructor cave operation on the volume of its reef trips. Separately, 1 have at least one instructor whose reviews we have read and summarised — a dive centre carries no synthesis of its own. How we read and count reviews.

About the course
Underwater Cave Surveying teaches cave divers to map and document cave passages using precision surveying techniques. This foundational survey course is for Full Cave Divers seeking to contribute to cave documentation, exploration records, or conservation projects. Training covers survey methodology, data collection using line, compass, and depth instruments, and the process of converting raw underwater measurements into usable cave maps suitable for expedition planning or publication.
Students complete 2+ cave survey dives of 60+ minutes each, demonstrating mastery of: underwater survey methodology and data collection, compass and line measurement techniques, depth recording under task-loading, emergency procedures during survey work, proper instrument handling, and accurate field note compilation for map construction.

Southeast Sulawesi's caves are warm (around 26°C), clear and nearly flowless, with road access close to many entrances, and much of the region is still unexplored. That makes it a Mexico-like place to progress from cavern to full cave in Asia, and one where trained cave divers can still join survey and exploration work.
