Sidemount Instructor Trainer
This course trains instructors to teach Sidemount diving—an alternative cylinder configuration where tanks are carried horizontally along the diver's sides rather than on the back, offering superior streamlining and redundancy for technical and advanced diving. Instructors learn sidemount equipment assembly and configuration, trim and positioning with side-slung cylinders, gas management with multiple independent cylinders, valve operation and isolation procedures, bailout protocols unique to sidemount, and teaching methodologies for transitioning students from back-mounted to sidemount systems. Sidemount Instructor certification positions instructors at the forefront of modern technical diving practices. Many advanced technical courses now assume or require sidemount proficiency. Successful instructors attract divers seeking the efficiency and elegance of sidemount systems.
