Sidemount Instructor

This course trains instructors to certify Shark Divers—recreational divers seeking to dive safely around sharks with proper understanding of shark behavior and appropriate in-water protocols. Instructors learn shark biology and behavior, species identification, threat recognition and avoidance, in-water positioning and protocols, photographer safety around sharks, and teaching methodologies for building realistic confidence and respect. Shark Diver Instructors serve reef-diving communities and eco-tourism markets where shark encounters are expected and educational. Instructors emphasize that sharks are generally unaggressive toward divers when approached respectfully. Successful specialists attract eco-conscious divers and contribute to positive human-shark coexistence narratives.
