RAIDaptive Instructor
This course trains instructors to teach the RAIDaptive specialty—inclusive diving techniques and adaptive methods enabling divers with physical disabilities or limitations to participate safely and confidently. Instructors learn adaptive techniques and equipment modifications for various disabilities (mobility, hearing, vision, cognitive), communication protocols, buddy and support-team coordination, depth and environment selection for accessibility, and teaching methodologies sensitive to individual needs. RAIDaptive Instructors become advocates for inclusion in diving and often specialize in serving military veterans, people recovering from accidents, and others seeking to (re)claim underwater experiences. Successful instructors contribute meaningfully to the broader mission of inclusive recreation.
