Instructor Trainer

Official course standards ↗Last updated September 7, 2026

The Instructor Trainer (ITP) course develops elite RAID Master Instructors into program directors capable of running Instructor Development Programs and evaluating instructor candidates independently. Candidates at this level transition from individual teaching towards program leadership and mentorship of other instructors. Successful ITP instructors become the backbone of RAID's training infrastructure, developing the next generation of RAID instructors and maintaining teaching standards across the agency.

Prerequisites

RAID's public course pages do not provide a dedicated page with specific Instructor Trainer course prerequisites. Contact a RAID dive centre for current requirements, which typically require minimum 21 years old, RAID Open Circuit Instructor status for at least 24 months, RAID Master Instructor rating, 300+ logged underwater hours, and current First Aid/CPR/Oxygen Provider certification.
