Boat Instructor
An instructor specialty course teaching safe boat diving practices and guiding student divers in boat operations and entry/exit procedures. Instructor candidates learn to manage dive operations from live-aboard vessels, teach proper giant-stride and back-roll entries, and manage diver safety during surface intervals. This course equips instructors to lead boat diving from any platform—day boats, dive ships, or expedition vessels—ensuring professional standards in high-traffic dive environments. Instructors learn to optimize dive operations while maintaining safety and environmental respect.
Prerequisites
Minimum 18 years old. Certified and current RAID Open Water Instructor. Certified and current RAID Divemaster (for courses a Divemaster can teach). Certified as a diver in the boat diving specialty. Complete registration and mandatory documentation.
