About

TDI Instructor Trainer based in Gozo, and the instructor behind Dark Horizon Diving. Technical instructor to hypoxic trimix on open circuit, Mod 2 CCR instructor on the KISS Sidewinder, Mod 1 instructor on the AP Diving Inspiration, Mod 3 diver, and a cavern instructor. A diver since 2003 and a dive professional since 2009, she became a technical diver in 2011 in Scotland — drawn in by the teams then finding wrecks in the 40-60m range — and dived Scapa Flow's German WWI wrecks. Between 2014 and 2022 she was based in Asia, mostly Indonesia, qualifying as a TDI and PADI TecRec instructor and a full cave diver in Thailand in 2015; she joined RAID as an Instructor Examiner in 2021 and returned to Europe in late 2022. She teaches a maximum of two students at a time in English or German, runs training tours in Germany, presented at the TekDive Conference at ADEX Singapore in 2019 and 2020, and writes for Scuba Diver Life.

Press runs Dark Horizon Diving on Gozo and her students' reviews split cleanly between two things: the KISS Sidewinder, which four reviewers came to her specifically for, and sidemount tuning — workshops and Sidemount+ blocks where the first day goes on wing, stage rigging and configuration before any skills work starts. The teaching signature is video. Four reviewers describe GoPro footage taken on every dive and gone through in detail at the end of the day, and two of them say the footage is what made the correction obvious. Four more single out how far she adapts the course to the student: "knew when to push and when to ease off", "changed up the skills training to adapt to our learning styles", and from a course director who took a Sidewinder deco upgrade with her, that she adapted to his diving rather than "just ticking official boxes to finish course". One couple put the trade plainly — if you want an instructor who will inflate your ego she is not it; if you want to earn the certification she is. Much of her teaching is one-to-one, and two reviews are from Germany rather than Gozo: she runs try-dive and training tours there, so her students do not all come to the island.
