Davenport teaches TDI out of Earth Immersion in north Florida cave country, and he dives sidemount exclusively — which the forums state plainly as a fact to plan around rather than a limitation. The pattern in his reviews is people coming back. One student trained with him twice, first for intro to cave and then for full cave; another found him through a Google search after moving to Florida, did cavern and intro, enjoyed it enough to return for full cave, and says so in those words. That progression — cavern, intro, then full cave with the same instructor months later — appears more than once and says a lot, because it is a choice made twice. ScubaBoard recommends him in the same register: "Scott Davenport of Earth Immersion. Great guy, patient, good sense of humour. Only dives SM", from a poster who had done several days of guided dives with him, and "Scott Davenport with Earth Immersion is excellent" from another who names Reggie Ross as his instructor trainer. Guided diving comes up nearly as often as instruction, which suits divers already certified and wanting somebody who knows the systems. What students say about him is consistent.
