Norton teaches TDI technical courses at Divewise and Techwise in St Julian's. Students describe a calm, encouraging instructor who adapts to how each person learns and is exacting about detail; one who took several courses with him calls him a mentor and a perfectionist. An ANDP student from May 2025 felt challenged and pushed but well supported throughout, and came away better at efficient kit setup as well as decompression theory. Some of his courses are taught jointly with Mike Tandy, and students describe the pair as warm, knowledgeable and without ego — demonstrating skills accessibly and never rushing anyone. He also appears in reviews of Trimix blocks alongside Alan Whitehead.
