Sokar owns Scuba Seekers in Dahab and is, as far as the forums know, the only GUE instructor in Africa — a point made repeatedly on ScubaBoard and Reddit, where the recommendation for GUE training in Egypt is simply his name. He teaches the only GUE Fundamentals class in the country. The training is rated for its practical weighting — a TDI CCR Mod 1 couple say the course kept theory where it was needed and put the rest of the time on the machine — and the centre for its infrastructure: trimix fills, oxygen, rebreathers, DPVs, everything organised and in its place. One diver who booked a four-day course with him says he has not found a better dive centre in many countries over many years. Scuba Seekers is also the base most often named on the forums as the biggest technical and CCR operation in Dahab.
