Egorov is GUE's training director and the subject of one of the most detailed Cave 2 course reports on ScubaBoard — an eight-day write-up from a Finnish diver whose only cave experience was flooded mine shafts. Two things recur in it. The first is that the student always knew where he stood: "you are always kept well aware of what is expected of you, and pushing you outside your comfort zone is kept to the level where learning is efficient instead of stressing you out." The second is that the reasoning came with the drill — the report repeatedly credits Egorov with explaining why each procedure and each training event was structured as it was, and singles out his lectures and his geology and decompression material. Small interventions get noticed too: a strap adjustment he suggested turned a thumbed dive into the student's best one. He is also named on Reddit among the handful of Florida GUE instructors people point newcomers toward.
