Van Vliet teaches TDI out of Snapper Scuba in the Florida panhandle. The few student reviews are concrete. A TDI sidemount student describes two full days and an instructor who "goes above and beyond the agency standards". A cavern student calls the course very hard and, in the same breath, completely worth it once finished — the phrasing that tends to mark a course taught to a real standard rather than a schedule. The panhandle is the quieter half of Florida cave country, with fewer instructors and less written about them than around High Springs, so ask him for references.
