Chris Godlewski
Sidemount instructor and underwater photographer, and the instructor behind Sidemount Society on Gozo, which he runs with Chloe Godlewski. Sidemount is the whole of the business rather than one course among many: he teaches recreational and technical sidemount, intro to tech and sidemount workshops for divers who already hold the certification but want the configuration to actually work, with a maximum of two divers per course. Courses are built around the diver's own kit — dry or wet, aluminium or steel — and the first day usually goes on harness and cylinder trim before skills begin. Holds TDI ratings in Sidemount, Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures, and photographs his students' dives as part of the course.

Godlewski runs Sidemount Society on Gozo and his teaching is almost entirely about one thing: sidemount, taught one-to-one or to a pair. Thirteen reviews of his own operation describe the same course shape — a day on the ground configuring the harness, then several days in the water — and the same two qualities, patience and attention to detail, named again and again by different students. Two reviewers came to him already certified and say he rebuilt habits they had carried for years; one brought a partner with a water-trauma history and credits him with getting her comfortable in a new configuration rather than pushing her through it. He teaches the reasoning, not just the drill ("making sure you understand why you do things a certain way"), films the dives, and sends people home with the photographs — mentioned in five separate reviews, which is unusual enough to be part of what people are buying. Six reviewers say they are coming back, three of them for technical sidemount. A separate review from Diver by Design names him as co-instructor on an Advanced Nitrox / Deco Procedures / Helitrox block alongside Vas Proud, which shows he teaches on the decompression side as well.
