Brock teaches IANTD, NSS-CDS and TDI out of Brock Technical in north Florida cave country, and is the NSS-CDS training director. He is recommended on ScubaBoard and r/scuba without qualification — "I would definitely recommend Chris Brock as a cave diving instructor at any level" — and what stands out in his case is how many posters name him as the person they did *all* of their cave training with, cavern through intro, apprentice and full cave, coming back to him at each step rather than shopping around. One diver three years past stage cave writes that Brock "will be my instructor once again". He appears in the standard list of Florida cave instructors alongside Jon Bernot, Jim Wyatt, Ken Sallot and James Draker, and separately for sidemount and rebreather training. Two things mark him out beyond student accounts. He completed GUE's cave curriculum as an already-established instructor from another agency, which is an unusual thing for someone at his level to do and which InDEPTH wrote about; and he takes instructor candidates through their own preparation, with one full cave course run with a candidate along in advance of his instructor institute. One poster notes he is the instructor Harry Averill now refers people to. There is no long, detailed course report about him, but students coming back to him across four certification levels says a great deal.
