Blevins co-owns Adventure Outfitters in Tampa Bay and is repeatedly credited with running technical classes other shops in the area would not — one diver had been told by several shops that advanced nitrox, deco procedures and helitrox needed a minimum headcount and would be months away; Blevins signed him up within two days and was willing to teach it as a class of one. Students describe him going beyond the standard curriculum, and he is named as the instructor on wreck certifications off the shop's own boat as well as on AN/DP and helitrox. Longtime local divers point to the shop as the one that stocked and supported them through the move into tech and cave diving when others in the bay area did not.
